Abandoned by her previous owners, Sonya was taken on by A Training Vision in 2016. Just two months after her arrival from California, Sonya was High Score at Training Level at her first rated dressage show, receiving an “8” on gaits. That year, Sonya also became VADA/Nova’s Training Level Open Year End Champion, and in 2017 was VADA/Nova's Second Level Year End Open Reserve Champion, and third in the state.

 

Competed through Prix St Georges, Sonya has schooled all of the Grand Prix movements, showing a particular talent for piaffe. Despite cardiac problems that slowed down her FEI training, Sonya continued to help multiple students toward their Bronze Medals and earned numerous schooling show championships and High Scores. 

 

Despite Sonya's rare cardiac conditions, she has been cleared to work and continues to give riders their first feeling for one tempis and piaffe.
